                                                PARISH COUNCIL – UPDATE

                                                      YEAR-END RESULTS     

 

 

MISSION STATEMENT:

 

This Parish Council will strive with the help of the Holy Spirit to plan for the future of our church.  We will pray together, investigate, discern, and formulate recommendations for the good of the parish in an effort to further the kingdom of God.

 

TASKS UNDERTAKEN:

 

Projects completed or in the process of completion for the 2005-2006 year are:

 

1.      The design and mailing of a Parish Survey.  This was accomplished in the

Fourth quarter of 2005.

 

2.      Compiling the results of the Parish Survey.  Preparing and publishing a report for the Parish Assembly.

                                             

3.      The Planning, Implementation and Audit of the Parish Assembly. 

 

4.  Council was presented with a Diocesan briefing on the “Code of Ministerial

     Conduct”. This Training is required for all individuals that will be in contact        

     with children. Training dates to be established.

 

5.   Council attended an in-house session on “Communications and Marketing”.

This was presented by Sue Costa. This presentation suggested ways of improving the life of our Parish family.

 

6.   Council received monthly updates from the various ministries. The reports              

assisted the Council in obtaining an overall picture of how the Parish is performing its overall Mission.  The updates also aided the Council in making recommendations to the Pastor.              

     

7.      Other activities completed or in the process of completion are:

-          Parish Directory

-          Formation of a Parish Activities Committee.

-          Planning Lenten Series

-          Publishing in the Bulletin, the concerns highlighted by the Parish Survey.
