Josephine Dascanio

 

Jo grew up in the Boston area and attended parochial schools, graduating from Cardinal Cushing High in South Boston. She enlisted in the Army and was trained and worked as a Medic; she then attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a 2nd Lt. in the Women’s Army Corps. She has been married to her husband Bob for 43 years; they have two children and seven grandchildren.

 

Jo attended Wayne County Community College in Detroit Michigan and earned an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts in 1970.  She worked 6 years as a Real Estate Agent then spent 14 years co-managing a dry cleaning chain that she and her husband owned and operated out of Westboro. Her hobbies include knitting, quilting, birding, hiking and traveling. She has been active in the Girl & Boy Scouts, Lions & Rotary Clubs, & the American Cancer Society. Her current community actives include being a Program Guide at the Ecotarium, Docent for Preservation Worcester, Information Receptionist for the Audubon Society as well as volunteering at the Worcester County Food Bank with St. Mary’s Food Pantry Ministry.
