John was raised in Natick and Wellesley, where he attended public school. He has a B.A. degree from Syracuse University and a Business Programming Certificate from College of the Redwoods in Eureka, California, where he lived for ten years. He met his wife Linnette while on the West Coast, and they moved to the Worcester area in 1988. They moved to Grafton in 1995. John and Linnette have one son, Jack, who has been an altar server and Religious Education summer aide at St Mary's.

John has served on the Religious Education Board, the Adult Faith Formation team, and as a catechist for Rite of Confirmation. He and his son have also provided musical accompaniment to liturgy under Joan Venincasa'a direction.

John has worked for the TJX Companies since 1988 in the Systems Division, most recently as a Senior Programmer Analyst. He enjoys time with family, running, bicycle riding, playing guitar, and general mechanical tinkering.
